Who we are

PLINTHOS (Pty) Ltd ("PLINTHOS", "we") is the responsible party for the personal information collected through this website, as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect

We only collect personal information that you give us through the enquiry form on our Contact page:

• Your name and email address (required, so that we can reply).
• Your phone number, if you choose to give it.
• The service you are interested in and the message you write.

Why we collect it

We use this information only to respond to your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to discuss and provide the services you asked about. We do not use it for marketing, and we do not sell it or give it to anyone else for their own use.

Where it goes

When you send the form, your enquiry is emailed to the PLINTHOS team. It is held in our email system and is seen only by the directors and staff who handle enquiries.

Our website is hosted and maintained for us by HBS Software Solutions, who process the form on our behalf as an operator and do not use it for anything else. Your enquiry is also held by our email service provider, which stores it on our behalf.

Some of this information is processed outside South Africa: the service that delivers our website’s emails may handle your enquiry on servers abroad, and Google receives information about your visit when the map on our Contact page loads. We only use providers that are bound to protect personal information to a standard comparable to POPIA.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for 12 months after our last contact with you, unless they lead to an ongoing business relationship, in which case we keep them for as long as the law requires for that relationship. After that, we delete them.

Cookies and other information

This website does not use cookies or tracking tools of its own, and does not build a profile of you. To protect the enquiry form from abuse, our server briefly keeps a record of the internet address a form was sent from; it is not stored with your enquiry and is cleared automatically.

The map on our Contact page is provided by Google Maps. When it loads, Google may receive information about your visit and set its own cookies, under Google’s privacy policy.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us, free of charge:

• Whether we hold personal information about you, and for a copy of it.
• To correct information that is wrong or out of date.
• To delete information we no longer need or should not have.
• To stop using your information, where you have the right to object.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
